Mama Vereb’s Famous 3-Step Salsa Recipe
If you’re anything like everyone else in this world, you love good salsa. And if you aren’t, not sure how you landed on this page LOL. And who doesn’t love good salsa with a yummy margarita? Count me in!
I am not going to bore you with a life story before giving you the recipe, I know how annoying that can be. You came here for the salsa, and the salsa you shall get! So let’s get started!
Here is the list of ingredients you will need:
- 6 large beefstake tomatoes, hand sliced
- 1 package of green onions, finely chopped, only use about half of the green and all of the white
- 2 small cans chopped green chilies
- 2 small cans chopped black olives
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons black pepper
- 2 tablespoons garlic salt
- Optional: add jalapeños for more kick
Gather all of the above ingredients and get them prepared for step two by washing and slicing the tomatoes, washing and chopping the green onions, and measuring out all other ingredients.
Mix all of the ingredients into a large bowl. I prefer Pyrex glass bowls with the lids so you can store in the refrigerator. Mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed and the salsa is uniform throughout.
Serve! I love this recipe because you can serve it immediately. You can also chill and serve if you’d like the tomatoes and other ingredients to marinate some into the juices. This is how I prefer to eat it after chilling for a few hours. But is is amazing either way!

It is definitely something I plan to pass down to my kids one day and hopefully they will continue to pass it on from there!
